The 2003 85p car has been sold -- Thank You to the sponsors that supported us and helped make such a successful 2003-2004 season.

2002-03 was the first season in a Speedway Saloon Car for Brett Sloman following two very successful seasons racing ministocks. The season returned mixed results with huge potential obvious right from the start of the season. Brett raced out of Palmerston North and started in 26 meetings between October and April. The highlights of the season were race wins at Palmerston North, Wellington and Hawkes Bay as well as finishing second on points in the Wellington round of the Telstra Clear Limited Saloon Series and third in the Wellington Limited Saloon Grand Prix 20 lap Feature. The immaculate presentation of the car was recognised by the Manawatu Stock and Saloon Car Club by awarding the best presented car trophy as well as the most improved saloon driver.

In the off season there has been a substantial effort to improve the performance of the car this has been in terms of engine enhancements and development work on the front suspension. This should all come together to improve not only the straight line speed but also the handling of the car. This combined with experience gained by the driver, Brett Sloman, in his first season will result in a very competitive combination.

The upcoming season 2003-04 will be very busy for the 85p team with Palmerston North Speedway (www.pnspeedway.co.nz) opening on the 4^th of October. Racing will continue every Saturday night throughout summer with the major meetings being the Telstra Clear Limited Saloon Series, Manawatu Limited Saloon Champs, Wellington Limited Saloon Champs, Easter Champs at Hawkes Bay and many others yet to be announced.
